If It Ain’t Broke…

Sometimes the best approach is to keep things simple. That was exactly the mindset heading into this project — a near replica of our Kodiak Olive, originally perched on the rugged shoreline cliffs of Kodiak, Alaska. This time, however, the home found its footing on the Great Plains of Missouri, just north of Kansas City.

With a redesigned garage, a few strategic window adjustments, and scaled-back decks, this version came together beautifully. It’s a perfect example of how clients can take one of our existing designs and make it distinctly their own — through thoughtful finish choices, personal style, and a sense of place.

Projects like this one also helped us refine our project delivery system, allowing us to produce streamlined budget sets more efficiently when design changes are minimal.

And while our Buffalo-based team might still be nursing some playoff wounds, we won’t hold it against our clients that they’re Kansas City Chiefs fans — after all, great design is something we can all root for.
